Ticket Transfer makes it possible to send tickets to friends and family. You can use Ticket Transfer to send some or all of your tickets from your Ticketmaster account to others securely, allowing everyone to enter the event with their own ticket.
How does ticket transfer work?
When you transfer tickets to another fan and they accept them, the recipient is issued a new barcode that only they can use. The tickets in the sender’s account will no longer be valid for entry.
To transfer your tickets, follow these steps:

- Open the Ticketmaster App and sign into your account.
- Find your order in My Events.
- Tap Transfer. If you receive a message that the Event Organiser hasn’t activated transfer, your tickets aren’t eligible for transfer.
- You'll receive a text with a one-time code to verify your identity. Type in the code and select Confirm. Visit Important information about Two Factor Authentication to learn more.
- Select the tickets you'd like to transfer and tap Transfer To.
- Enter your recipient's information, including their email address — you could even add a note too. When you enter an email address, a link to claim the ticket will go to your recipient in an email.
- Tap Transfer Ticket.

- Find your order in the My Tickets section.
- Click Transfer Tickets. If you receive a message that the Event Organiser hasn’t activated transfer, your tickets aren’t eligible for transfer.
- You'll receive a text with a one-time code to verify your identity. Type in that code and select Confirm. Visit Important information about Two Factor Authentication to learn more.
- Select the tickets you'd like to transfer and click Continue.
- Enter your recipient's information, including their email address — you could even add a note too.
- Click Send.
Your transferred tickets will show in your account as sent. Once the recipient has accepted them, you’ll receive an email confirming the ticket has been accepted. After a successful Ticket Transfer, the ticket in your account is no longer valid for event entry.

How do I know if the tickets have been accepted?
Once you send a ticket, you’ll see either:
- Waiting to accept or Sent, remind them to check their Ticketmaster Account on Ticketmaster.com.au for the tickets or in their email for the transfer invite.
- Accepted by or Claimed, which means the transfer has been successful.
If the Event Organiser has activated transfer for additional items other than the tickets, you can begin the transfer process from our Ticketmaster Account.
To transfer eligible extras, follow these steps:
- Sign into your Ticketmaster Account on Ticketmaster.com.au.
- Find your order in the My Tickets section.
- Under the My Extras section, click the Transfer button.
- Select the item you’d like to transfer. If an item is grayed out, it is not eligible for transfer.
- Enter the recipient’s details and include an optional message.
- Once you’ve reviewed your information, click Confirm.
- If you’d like to transfer another item, click Transfer Another Extra.
Your transferred items will show in your account as sent. Once the recipient has accepted them, you’ll receive an email confirmation. After a successful transfer, the item in your account is no longer valid for use from your Ticketmaster Account.
Is it free to transfer tickets?
Ticketmaster will never charge a fee for a name change or to transfer event tickets.
Can I transfer tickets for any event?
You can use Ticket Transfer for most events, some have rules and restrictions. You can find your event's available options listed in your confirmation email or on the venue's official site. If Ticket Transfer isn’t eligible, you'll receive a message that the Event Organiser hasn’t activated the feature when you select the transfer button.
The option may not be available for one of the following reasons:
- The venue doesn't offer Ticket Transfer yet (we're working on that).
- The artist or venue turned Ticket Transfer off for that event/section.
- The event was canceled (ticket buyers are automatically refunded).
- The event has already happened.
- The tickets were bought over the phone.
- There is a delay in shipping the physical tickets or providing access to mobile tickets.
Do I have to transfer all of my tickets?
No, you can transfer some or all of your tickets.
Can I transfer parking that I purchased for my event?
To check if your parking is eligible for transfer, go to your order in your account. If you receive a message that the Event Organizer hasn’t activated transfer, parking transfers aren’t available.
Secure Ticket offers aren’t eligible for transfer.
Will the person I transfer tickets to need a Ticketmaster Account?
Yes, but if they don’t have one, it only takes seconds to create a Ticketmaster Account.
If they have an account already, use the email address associated with their Ticketmaster Account for the Ticket Transfer — it’s easier for them to accept tickets that way. Visit our help page Create a Ticketmaster Account for more information.
Can I transfer tickets that were transferred to me?
Yes, if your event is eligible for Ticket Transfer, you’re good to go — even if your tickets haven’t been delivered to you yet.
Can I only transfer event tickets?
Other items may also be eligible for transfer. To find out, go to your order in your account. If you receive a message that the Event Organizer hasn’t activated transfer, parking transfers aren’t available, your item isn’t eligible for transfer.
Secure Ticket offers originally purchased or included with the ticket are not transferable and will not apply to transferred tickets.
